The 2026 edition of the NYC Karatedō International Championship will offer a wide range of events in kata for all of the different divisions of the Tournament. add kata events for the first time.
They will include at least six different events spread out over five different divisions and on both days of competition:
October 24th, 2026 [Saturday Morning + Afternoon]
- Adult Men Kata
- Adult Women Kata
October 25th, 2026 [Sunday]
- Juniors Kata (ages 4 to 8)
- Youth Kata (ages 8 to 11)
- Teen Kata (ages 12+)
- Mentor Division Kata (ages 8+)
The official kata competition rules will be updated and published in the early Summer, and take into account traditional concepts and the spirit and essence of authentic karatedō, while still providing an opportunity for competition.
