Kata Events at the 2025 Tournament

In 2025, the NYC Karatedō International Championship will add kata events for the first time. Plans are still being formalized, but they will include:

November 8th, 2025 [Saturday]

• Adult Men Kata
• Adult Women Kata

November 9th, 2025 [Sunday]

• Juniors Kata (ages 5 to 7)
• Youth Kata (ages 8 to 11)
• Teen Kata (ages 12+)
• Mentor Division Kata (ages 10+)

The official kata competition rules will be published in the early Summer, and take into account traditional concepts and the spirit and essence of authentic karatedō, while still providing an opportunity for competition.
