George Goshadze - 5th degree black belt from SKIF - Shotokan Karate-Do International Federation, with over 18 years teaching experience. Currently teaching in NYC.
To establish a real, powerful karate school in Manhattan and base it not only on the best traditions and true spirit of karate, but also on thorough analysis and understanding of its principles through the modern mentality as well as its best application in a modern world.
Everything you will learn here will MAKE SENSE.
We are based at Baruch College, Athletic & Recreation Center, Level B2 (Enter from 24th street) 55 Lexington Avenue, New York, NY 10010
Currently we meet three times a week:
Tuesdays 5pm - 7pm – Advanced classes
Fridays 9am - 11am – Beginner classes
Sundays 3pm - 5pm – Master classes
Soon we will add more hours.
I am looking for people who know what they want and thoughtfully intend to invest themselves in martial arts. NOTE - There is a big difference between the genuine art of karate and its distorted substitutes one can usually see around!
Black belts are more than welcome especially if they come from traditional schools.
Beginners and intermediates are encouraged to build their skills in this discipline on Fridays.
You are going to practice hard enough, about 8 hours a week.
We pay equal, attention to Kihon(basic technique), Kata(forms) and Kumite(fighting) with real and meaningful applications
Spiritual development is a primary goal of ours
Friday beginner classes are OPEN AND FREE.
All classes (except weekend master classes) are FREE FOR NYC STUDENTS, including high school and middle school kids.
In all other cases custom tuition rates will apply, which needs to be discussed with the instructor.
Without going into any boring philosophy, I do believe that there is only one step to any star. Through
mastering our bodies we perceive the way (“do”) to mastering our souls.
Own your soul (self) and you will become free – “Tavisuphali”
